At Littleworld Day Nurseries, nutrition is an important focus; we are here to help your little ones thrive, and what they eat is a big part of that.
All children are encouraged to eat well here, but without pressure. We also help them learn more about food so they can build an understanding of healthy eating and create positive habits for the future.
We serve freshly prepared, home-cooked food daily, all planned by our catering team, and our meals are made with locally-sourced fresh produce.
Our focus is on creating menus that are nutritious, well-balanced, and enjoyable for little ones!
We follow the Early Years Nutrition Guidance and use best practices in our Food and Drink Policy by avoiding added salt and using low-sugar recipes.
We check all food labels for salt and sugar levels to ensure we do not exceed the recommended levels for children under five.

We understand that every child is different, and we work closely with parents and carers to support individual dietary needs wherever possible.
If your child has allergies, intolerances, or specific dietary requirements, our team will take the time to understand their needs and make sure this information is carefully recorded and followed during meal and snack times.
We also make staff aware of any allergies within the nursery and follow clear procedures to help keep children safe at all times.
We understand that some children may require a dietary care plan, so our catering manager works closely with parents and carers to fully understand each child’s individual needs and create a personalised plan to support them safely within the nursery environment.
Mealtimes with us are happy and relaxed social occasions where children sit in small groups at tables with a member of staff.
We love getting our pre-schoolers more involved in mealtimes by letting them take turns setting the tables.
All children are encouraged to be independent with their food choices and portion sizes. We provide serving dishes and gently support them as they learn to serve themselves.
